Alec Pace will release a new EP, ‘Spherae’, later this week. Have an exclusive first listen to the title track below.

Returning from a two-year hiatus following 2022’s ‘Future Now?’ EP – and its accompanying remix package featuring Stenny, Sobolik and Klahrk – the Turin-based producer and DJ delivers four dizzying club concoctions. Maintaining the bass-charged thrust of those previous releases, but with additional flourishes of post-grime, electro and twisted gqom, ‘Spherae’ lurks in the more experimental borderlands of Pace’s output. However, from the glitching Jersey-club beats of ‘Preemah’ to the feverish synths of the peak-time ‘Khroma’, the project never takes its eyes off the dancefloor.

Pace hits the sweet spot on title track and futuristic roller, ‘Spherae’, where warping basslines wreak havoc alongside frantic d&b-infused rhythms. Held in place with lashings of crunchy synthwork and a ghostly, hyper-effected vocal, it’s a throbbing addition to the early reflex bosses burgeoning catalogue of bangers.

The project is the latest release on the Mexico City-based label Infinite Machine, following the collaborative four-tracker from Diessa x Eyeza, ‘Warp Sharks’, and bonebrokk’s punishing new LP, ‘In Between Two Worlds’.

‘Spherae’ will be released on 3rd May. Pre-order the EP here, and have an exclusive first listen to the title track below.
