We Are FSTVL 2024 cancelled due to "record levels of rainfall" and safety concerns

This year's We Are FSTVL has been cancelled over safety concerns.

The event had been due to go ahead at Central Park in Dagenham, East London on 25th and 26th May, but will no longer take place after Barking & Dagenham council told organisers that the venue could not safely host a festival due to the amount of recent rainfall.

Announcing the cancellation, We Are FSTVL's organisers said they were "devastated" and the decision had been made due to "reasons beyond our control". Ticket holders are set be refunded.

Eric Prydz and Chase & Status had been due to headline this year's edition of the festival, while the likes of Patrick Topping, Bou, Eats Everything and The Martinez Brothers were also listed on the line-up.

Confirming that "detailed plans" had been made for this year's event, which organisers hoped would be "better than ever before", We Are FSTVL said in a statement: "Sadly, and just days before we were due to attend on site to start the build, London Borough of Barking & Dagenham accepted that they could not deliver a safe event space that was fit for the purpose of allowing us to stage We Are FSTVL 2024."

A spokesman for Barking & Dagenham council said: "LBBD's recent assessment of Central Park, after record levels of rainfall this year, has found the site cannot safely host the physical demands of We Are FSTVL's equipment and audience. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
