Some campaigns are boring, some are hugely misguided, but we have to take our hats off to the guys who’ve made us laugh along the way!
These are the five funniest Top 100 DJs campaigns of all time...
ABOVE & BEYOND ENLIST CLIVE RUDLOE & MATT LUCAS FOR MOCKUMENTARY SERIES
Clive Rudloe, as seen in UK comedies including The Inbetweeners, plays a fictional version of an unlikely No.1 DJ in this genuinely funny mockumentary series put together by trance trio, Above & Beyond. We invited Clive down to our Top 100 DJs party to DJ in the VIP room the same year that these videos dropped. His rider consisted of a ‘mixed selection of biscuits’. Rock on, Rudloe.
HARDWELL JUMPS OUT OF A PLANE
The current No.1 DJ celebrated his first victory in 2013 by jumping out of a plane, conquering his fear of heights along the way. Watch the Revealed Recordings boss land on a giant DJ Mag banner in the middle of the Dutch countryside in this entertaining short film.
CHAINSMOKERS ARE JUST FUNNY
Chainsmokers throw a lot of ideas together in their 2014 campaign video. From child actors to some CGI cloning, the whole video is worth a watch, but the simplest idea wins the prize. We could watch the duo pull that blind down on Tiesto’s gargantuan Vegas billboard all day long.
STEVE LAWLER & DJ FACEBENDER
Frustrated with the domination of EDM DJs in the poll, Steve Lawler’s camp put together a spoof news report based on fictional DJ Facebender, who chains his nan to a chair getting her to vote continuously. Disclaimer - please untie your nan - only one vote per person will count!
