LFO CHART CAMPAIGN ENTERS FINAL DAYS

Move to get ‘LFO’ in Xmas chart receives wide industry support

After the untimely death of Mark Bell from hardcore pioneers LFO a few weeks ago, a campaign sprung up to get their bleep anthem ‘LFO’ into the UK charts in memory of Mark.

The campaign has received support from many in the dance music industry, including Liam Howlett from The Prodigy, Skream, 808 State, Altern 8, the Chemical Brothers, Dave Clarke, Erol Alkan, Gez Varley (ex-LFO), Goldie, Jackmaster, james Zabiela, Modeselektor, Paul Hartnoll (Orbital), Simian Mobile Disco, Plastician, The Black Dog, Utah Saints and many more.

The campaign is now entering its final few days, and although it’s unlikely to make the Christmas No.1 slot, the record has a real chance of appearing in the UK top 40 — a quarter of a century after it first charted and helped kick off the seminal Warp Records imprint.

The track is currently at No.4 on Bleep, No.2 on Juno Download, top of Amazon’s Dance Chart and at No.21 in their full chart. A last minute push by dance music fans could lead to a spin during the coveted Xmas chart rundown for one of the UK scene’s most important releases in its development out of rave.
