ALISON WONDERLAND CALLS OUT THREATENING INSTAGRAM COMMENTS

The Australian DJ received rape threats on the social network.

Australian DJ Alison Wonderland has drawn attention to threats of sexual violence made on her Instagram page.

Wonderland shared a screenshot of the rape threats which two users left in the comments section of a photo of herself posted on Instagram.

One user named “b.coves” wrote: “can we rape her or something please.” A second, named “r.macks”, replied: “I would roofie her”.

The accounts have since been deleted and the comments removed.

In a Facebook post in which Wonderland called out the users, she wrote: “Yo I wouldn’t usually call people out but I feel like this time it is important. Last 2 comments. This is not OK. Ever. I don’t care if it’s a ‘joke’. Not. OK."

Wonderland also tweeted the screenshot, telling followers: “These people need to be put down. Last 2 comments.”

Yo I wouldn't usually call people out but I feel like this time it is important. Last 2 comments. This is not ok. Ever. I don't care if it's a 'joke'. Not. Ok.

The users behind the threats came under fire from fans and followers of Wonderland, prompting the DJ to intervene.

“Hey guys please stop harassing those kids who made those awful comments. Responding to abuse with abuse doesn’t solve anything..” she wrote on Instagram.

“Any comment said to make someone feel threatened is a crime. Call me ugly, tell me you hate my music or my voice or whatever I don’t give a f*** about that s***, but implying that you want to give me a drug then rape me, joke or not, is just ... oh my god ... how is this even a thing?” Wonderland added.

In a later post on Facebook, Wonderland said that the two users had since apologised to her.

“I just wanted to say that the two boys have now apologised, thank you. Please do not send aggressive threats to them or their family or their friends. I do not condone that. Peace,” she wrote.
