CALVIN HARRIS TOPS DJ RICH LIST (AGAIN)

Pips TIesto to the top spot...

According to Forbes’ DJ Rich List, Calvin Harris is the highest earning DJ again this year, beating out Dutch goliath Tiesto by a cool $25 million.

Last year Calvin agreed an exclusive three-year partnership with the Hakkasan group, to continue his residency in Las Vegas, with some reports suggesting the DJ earns $400,000 per gig, which has seen his earning rise to an eye-watering $63m.

Many had thought that Tiesto might take the top spot this year having signed a deal with 7Up, which sees the Dutch superster giving up-and-coming DJs at shot at stardom in a 10-part web series.

This year will be the third consecutive year that the Scottish producer has topped the DJ rich list, although Forbes notes that this year is the first time that the overall total earnings have fallen.

The fifth-placed DJ, Steve Aoki, told Forbes: “The bubble has already burst in America. You can see it in Vegas’ DJ landscape.”

Forbes’ figures included not just DJing fees, but earnings from live shows, merchandise, endorsements, recorded music and outside business ventures, and covered the period from June 2015 to June 2016.

The full top 10 is as follows:-
1 Calvin Harris – $63m
