DAFT PUNK'S EDIT OF JUNIOR KIMBROUGH IS GETTING A RECORD STORE DAY RELEASE

Limited to 3,000 copies for Record Store Day...

Daft Punk's unreleased remix of Junior Kimbrough's 'I Gotta Try You Girl' is getting a limited vinyl release (just 3,000 copies) for next month's Record Store Day.

The Daft Punk edit in question came to prominence in 2013 when the French duo soundtracked Saint Laurent's spring and summer collection, with Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo editing Kimbrough's track into 15 minutes of smokey blues, a millions miles away from anything the electronic duo have done before.

David "Junior" Kimbrough was an American blues singer from Mississippi who is best known for 'All Night Long' and 'Keep Your Hands Off Her'.

In other Daft Punk/ Record Store Day news, LA group Vitamin String Quartet will be releasing a cover album of Daft Punk's last long-play, 'Random Access Memories', where Daft Punk's synths, drum machines and vintage vocoders are translated into violin, viola and cello as the group take on Daft Punk's biggest selling album.

Record Store Day takes place on April 16th.
