Paul Oakenfold to become first DJ to play Stonehenge

He'll be the first-ever artist to play the UNESCO World Heritage site...

Legendary trance DJ Paul Oakenfold will be the first selector to spin at Stonehenge in Wiltshire.

Performing a special sunset set at the prehistoric monument, he’ll also be recording the whole thing to release as an album, ‘Live at Stonehenge’.

The invitation-only event will take place this September for an audience of just 50 hand-picked guests.

The news comes after Oakenfold has been playing a string of high-profile events in exotic locations, with the Great Wall Of China and Mount Everest already ticked off his list.

“I am so lucky to be able to share my music from such an iconic site,” he said. “The energy there will be like nowhere else on earth, and this will be reflected in my music and performance.”

All of the profits from the show will go to English Heritage, a charity working to preserve over 400 historic sites around the country.

The real question is, will he play the Big Brother theme tune...?
