SIX DEAD AFTER TIME WARP ARGENTINA, FESTIVAL ISSUES OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Drugs overdoses are suspected to have caused the casualties...

Six people have died and four others remain in hospital in a critical condition from what is suspected to be acute poisoning from a drug overdose, after attending Time Warp festival in Argentina on Friday night.

The BBC originally reported five dead, all aged between 21 and 25, but the death toll has now risen to six, according to the Buenos Aires Herald.

Local emergency services were called to the event held at the Costa Salguero, after it became clear that the private ambulances on-site were unable to cope. The Coast Guard and Unit Against Drug-Trafficking are investigating, and what substance caused the casualties is still unknown.

Attendees of Time Warp raised concerns about overcrowding and poor ventilation at the venue. “We couldn't stay inside, we couldn't breathe. It was too hot and there were too many people,” one partygoer told local TV channel TN.

In the wake of the casualties, Time Warp cancelled the second night of the festival, which was due to take place on Saturday, and issued the statement below via Facebook.
