STREAMING IS SLOWLY SAVING THE MUSIC INDUSTRY

Revenue generated by streaming services is slowly bringing the music industry back on track says a report published by The Verge.

According to figures released by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), streaming subscriptions for the first half of 2016 brought in over $1 billion, almost as much as the $1.2 billion recorded for the entire of 2015.

Paid subscriptions have also doubled since this time last year, now sitting at 18.3 million.

Physical sales continue to decline however, with even the recent vinyl boom now starting to shrink again.
