New Gorillaz track featuring Mavis Staples and Pusha T landing today

Damon Albarn also has over 40 tracks from the band’s studio sessions for their new album...

Gorillaz are set to drop a new track, titled ‘Let Me Out’, which features Mavis Staples and Pusha T, on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show later today.

The premiere runs alongside an interview with Gorillaz man Damon Albarn, who has revealed in a clip that has run ahead of Lowe’s show that he has over 40 tracks that didn’t make the cut of the cartoon band’s new album.

“I’m just sort of slowly going through all tunes that sort of didn’t work out and finishing them,” he said, continuing to joke that they mean he “can stay in the game for at least another 18 months.”

Yesterday (5th April), we revealed that Gorillaz are launching three immersive “Spirit House” pop-ups in Berlin, Amsterdam and New York later this month, which will allow fans to step inside the home of the virtual band.
