Reason adds VST support in new 9.5 update

Finally!

Propellerhead have just announced a new Reason 9.5 update that will finally allow producers to use their VST plug-ins with the software.

It has taken Propellerhead seventeen years to add third party VST support to their popular music creation software.

Whilst they appeased users with Reason Racks, many producers still felt left out as other DAW users could utilise the wealth of VSTs available for music production in their tracks.

The introduction of 3rd Party VSTs also allows Reason users to get extra creative by combining them with Reason’s Rack, and using the parameters and controls from the DAW to modulate the sound. A similar approach to the new Bitwig Studio 2, which uses modulator devices in order for producers to tweak around with the sound from the software.

The update is currently in Beta testing mode, with a pencilled release for 29th May, but it certainly looks like this new update will relight a lot of interest in this classic piece of music-creating software.
