NEW GARAGEBAND UPDATE

Apple's new GarageBand update welcomes Chinese music creators to the mix.

Apple has released a new update to their GarageBand software across its iOS and Mac formats.

The new update adds Chinese instruments and extensive Chinese language localisation throughout the app, as well as new sharing options to popular Chinese social networks, QQ and Youku. China is Apple’s No. 2 market, and they are keen to make GarageBand even more accessible to DJs and Producers in China and anyone around the world interested in exploring Chinese music.

The update adds new Chinese instruments — the Pipa, Erhu and Chinese percussion. 300 Apple-created Chinese musical loops can now be mixed and matched with Chinese instruments to create traditional music or entirely new styles.

There are also two new Chinese templates for Live Loops in GarageBand for iOS that include one traditional and one modern, showcasing a variety of Chinese instruments and percussion that are all playable via the Live Loops grid.
