13 massive tracks heard at Paradise City festival 2018

We picked some of our favourite tracks heard at the picturesque Paradise City, on the grounds of Ribaucourt castle, played by the likes of Jayda G, Or:la, Call Super b2b Objekt and more...

Paradise City is a festival that – despite feeling more like a commune or village – comfortably lives up to its name. The small but ambitious and environmentally conscious three-day event takes place on the idyllic grounds of Ribaucourt castle just outside Brussels and, thanks to its lush surrounding woodland and picturesque lake, serves as a mesmerising temporary escape from real life.

Over the course of three gloriously sunny days the festival played host to a bountiful variety of styles across its three ornate wooden stages. On Friday, local Play Label Records curated a feast divine disco and house courtesy their own residents as well as Canadian selector extraordinaire Jayda G, Byron the Aquarius and Lil Louis. Between that and percussive eclecticism of Or:la, Willow, Joey Anderson and Objekt and Call Super’s three hour b2b on Saturday, the small lakeside stage was the festival’s sweetest spot.

The weekend was replete with highlights, from DJ Koze’s sublime sunset soundtrack on Sunday to Omar Souleyman and Session Victim’s Saturday live outings and, of course, the legendary Laurent Garnier’s flawless festival closing set.
