73% of ravers wouldn’t refuse to go to a festival if it had an all-male line-up, study finds

An Instagram quiz by Electronic Beats uncovered the troubling statistic...

A recent poll of Instagram users revealed that 73% of clubbers wouldn’t decide against going to a festival with an all-male line-up.

The question was posed to ravers as part of a series of polls posted to the social media platform by Electronic Beats over the last few weeks. While 72% of respondents said they were aware of the gender equality discussion within the music industry and 76% said that it was a subject they cared about, only 27% of those who responded said that they would choose not to go to a festival if it had an all-male line-up.

Elsewhere, the study found that 39% of people agreed that it matters whether a female or male DJ is playing an event while 73% of those who voted said that it would not help towards boosting gender equality within the music industry if a line-up was female-only.
