ANDREW WEATHERALL'S FESTIVAL IN A CASTLE

Evergreen veteran hosts his own festival in France

One of the most respected tastemakers in dance music, Andrew Weatherall has the second edition of 'The Andrew Weatherall Festival' happening in France in September.

The event, on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th September, takes place in the beautiful Le Chateau Comtal in Carcassone in the South of France. Last year's festival attracted a thousand Weatherall fans, and organisers Bernie Fabre and Benjamin Esteve hope to continue building a cultural bridge between London and Carcassonne La Cite.

The festival will feature an amalgamation of obscure and underground music from London, Scotland, Bucharest and France — hand-picked by the former Sabres/Two Lone Swordsmen man himself. Andrew's psyche project with Timothy J. Fairplay, The Asphodells, are DJing, and Andrew Weatherall's Music's Not For Everyone — “where dark-hearted rockabilly, interspersed with oddities from the back pages of post-punk, industrial, Krautrock, Turkish psych, dub and much more” — will also hold forth.

Weatherall faves ALFOS, Khidja, Scott Fraser and The Liminanas are also on the bill. This is unmissable for Weatherall connoisseurs. Tickets are priced at just £17.50 per day, plus booking fee, £35 for the weekend — available here
