ANDY FROM LAMB DOES US A MIX

STREAM IT HERE: The downtempo dude gets funky

Lamb shot to prominence in the mid-90s with offbeat cuts like ‘Gorecki’, ‘Cotton Wool’ and ‘Gold’. The combination of Louise Rhodes’s enchanting vocals woven in with Andy Barlow’s off-kilter beats was a seductive one — Lamb became everybody’s favourite downtempo post-club act.

They made four albums over a ten year period before going their separate ways for a while — but now they’re back. Check the Lamb interview in the November issue of DJ Mag — out this week.

Lamb are just about to release their second album since coming back together, ‘Backspace Unwind’, and to celebrate Andy from the band has given us an exclusive live DJ mix.

Starting on a tribal tip, Andy soon drops into Afro-funk and continues to explore world grooves for the remainder of the hour — all showing that not only is he a super-talented producer, but can put together a mean DJ set too. Snippets of The Kinks guitar classic ‘You Really Got Me’ are intercut into some click-house before Andy slams into some Daft Punk-style electro-house.
