Aphex Twin’s new video TV premiere pulled after failing epilepsy test
A track thought to be from the EP was also temporarily uploaded to Youtube...

A new Aphex Twin video that was set to premiere on Adult Swim last night was pulled after failing an epilepsy test.
The video, which was scheduled to run at 1 AM EDT, was intended as the next phase of his ‘Collapse’ EP promotion campaign, failed the required Harding test, which determines if video content is safe for epileptic and photosensitive audiences.
After the video was pulled, Adult Swim’s creative director tweeted saying that the video would be premiered online instead. No time or date has been set however.
Meanwhile, last night, a track thought to be lifted from the EP was shared on YouTube overnight with the title ‘T69 Interruption’ – same as the opening title on the tracklist and press release shared by Warp yesterday. However the video has since been taken down on copyright grounds. As Fact reported, it was allegedly an unreleased track that Aphex Twin played at Houston’s Day For Night Festival in 2016.
Others have noticed that the track does indeed appear when you search for “Aphex Twin” in Instagram Stories’ music sticker function. Artwork which shows a collapsing version of Aphex Twin’s on top of what appears to be a map has also recurred online on platforms like Shazam.
All of this comes little over a week after the appearance of Aphex Twin’s logo in London’s Elephant & Castle tube station last weekend. As speculation grew, more and more logos appeared in locations around the world including Turin, Manhattan and Los Angeles.
The legendary producer’s mythology was recently explored by The Quietus’ John Doran in a BBC Radio 4 documentary called ‘The Cult of Aphex Twin’. Early this year, the IDM game changer announced his first Berlin show in 15 years. He will play Funkhaus on Thursday 1st November.
