Get the know-how at the Soma Skool

Ever wondered how to go about making your own dance track but not had the means or the know-how? Then it's time to go back to skool! Soma Skool, that is.
On 25th April, the revolutionary workshop event comes to renowned club The Arches, in Glasgow.

An initiative conceived by stellar Glaswegian techno/house imprint Soma - responsible for releases by label bosses Slam, Funk D'Void, Silicone Soul, Vector Lovers and more - Soma Skool aims to demystify the music production process, inviting people to produce their own finished piece of music, guiding them through the creative process from demo to finished product with step-by-step explanations, presentations and Q&A panels.
Although aimed at 16 – 25-year-olds, the event has thus far attracted people from all age groups with its diverse range of activities.

The day-long programme, which has now run for five successful years, also provides workshops on artwork design, music video and marketing and business plans.
This year, artists and DJs who'll be imparting their wisdom include Dave Clarke, DJ Sneak, Anja Schneider, Vector Lovers, Octogen and The Black Dog.
Tickets are available now, priced £5, with £1 concessions for students, the unemployed and schoolchildren. For further information check the website at somaskool.com.
