BANKSY EXHIBITION BRINGS MASSIVE ATTACK & DJ YODA TO WESTON-SUPER-MARE

The Dismaland Bemusement Park opens this Friday!

Banksy has revealed that Massive Attack, DJ Yoda and Stones Throw founder Peanut Butter Wolf will perform at his upcoming exhibition in Weston-Super-Mare.

The elusive graffiti artist is hosting the event, titled Dismayland, at Tropicana, a derelict seafront lido.

"I loved the Tropicana as a kid," Banksy explained in a press release, "so getting to throw these doors open again is a real honour."

Running for six weeks, the exhibition will feature performances from DJ Yoda, Peanut Butter Wolf, Run The Jewels, Sleaford Mods. Savages (who are billed as 'The Savages'), Kate Tempest, Pussy Riot and Massive Attack.

The event has been a closely guarded secret with even members of the town's council being kept in the dark. Nigel Ashton, leader of North Somerset Council, told BBC News, "We have been working closely with the organisers for months now, and for obvious reasons, have had to remain tight-lipped about the true nature of the event. In fact, only four people in the entire council knew what was really happening."

It’s not the first event to be held on the seaside resort, Alfresco Disco threw a party last month in a converted ice cream parlour that played host to A Guy Called Gerald, Eats Everything and Bill Brewster.

Dismaland Bemusement Park will run 22nd August to 27th September, from 11am-6pm and then 7-11pm. Tropicana Lido, Marine Parade, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 1BE. Tickets available from tomorrow, priced £3 for adults and free for children.
