BEDROOM CHAT!

Bedroom Sessions returned last night to cast its reign fury over Bedroom Bar...

Cor, blimey. That was a large one! Well, as big as can be in that cosy wee watering hole, Shoreditch's Bedroom Bar. Last night, we hauled our Funktion One over the road and revved it up ready for the Thursday night session crew once again; another amiable coming together of industry bods and straight-up clubbers, grateful for a free Tiger beer and the chance to catch the UK's finest DJs in an snug setting without shedding a penny to get through the door. Hence, the vibe last night reached fever pitch. Here's how it went down...

Manchester-based Irishman Krystal Klear stepping up not long after the DJ Mag Allstars warmed the place to a jazzy hum is just one of the highlights to be re-savoured HERE on Be-at.tv. His nimble-fingered triggering of effects on his Traktor Scratch while knocking out a quick-fire medley of old skool classics, pop hits and up-to-date house bangers, the perfect way to pump up the already jammed dancefloor. Nightcrawlers, Storm Queen, Omar S, Krystal Klear's own cuts, even Destiny's Child, they're all there...

Taking things into deeper, more muscular territory (have you seen Ryan's guns?), the No Artificial Colours duo can also be caught doing what they do best, minus a Traktor issue causing one of their deep groovers to turn into a weird, wonky dubstep tune; the more open-minded on the floor mistaking it as an intentional spot of innovative genre subversion. Switching to CDs, they made amends though, dropping new material alongside shuffler Fanta Boys 'Pump It All', just one of many golden garage-tinged moments...

By now, the place was stacked to the rafters with elated ravers, who found their place on the stage in front of the DJ Mag Lite Console, pumping their fists and raising their hands in the air in time with the drops.

This wasn't hindered in the slightest by the sight of the Dusky boys taking to the booth...

Following a cleverly worked set full of bass-bin troubling bad-boys, topped off with a massive exit in the form of Dusky's remix of Justin Martin, the DJ Mag Allstars – slightly out-of-sorts and a bit puffed out – closed proceedings with cuts from Eats Everything, Shadow Child and Outboxx, with the lights up. Well, that was one bedroom we all struggled to get any sleep in! Until next time...
