We’re touched by Jay Read’s story and the reasons why he set up his own Jilted Royalty clothing company - and we’re not going to judge his extreme obsession with tattoos.

“I began getting tattooed seriously from the age of twenty one and every two weeks I’d be in the studio adding to my collection,” he reflects. An individual guy, Jay is an ex-heroin addict with a Multiple Personality Disorder, who’s time in prison was the wake up call required to set his life on a new path, and in 2009 Jilted Royalty was born.

“All Jilted garments are cut and sewn. It’s not about money, it’s about quality. It’s a family business and we don’t settle for second best. Ever!” Jay confirms.

Both sexes are catered for; from bucket hats to sweat pants, vests, tees, jackets, to iPhone cases and stickers, the JR Code of Honour collection is on a roll. And in Jay’s words, “you are whatever you make yourself to be, the world is yours!”.
