BOWERS & WILKINS' SOUND SYSTEM
Bowers & Wilkins launch new soundsystem at Primavera Sound Festival...
Not content with suppyling many a home with some serious sound as well as being the speaker of choice in high class studios around the world, Bowers & Wilkins have now turned their attention and industry know-how into festival sound systems!
‘Sound System’, as they are calling it, is a new loudspeaker system which has been designed to bring hi-fi quality sound to the festival environment — giving users all the lush sound they would expect in a state of the art listening room. Bowers & Wilkins have teamed up with the almighty Boiler Room to put the system through its paces.
‘Sound System’ will make its debut to the world at the Bowers & Wilkins + Boiler Room stage at this year’s Primavera Festival in Barcelona in a 1000-capacity Igloo Tent. Globally acclaimed DJs Jamie xx, John Talabot and Pional will headline the stage across the three days of the festival.
In addition to the headliners, the Bowers & Wilkins + Boiler Room stage will feature a carefully curated line-up of the best up-and-coming and established artists in modern dance music today. Thursday night will see Catalan favourite William Dafoe play, Friday night will see 25-year-old Londoner The Haxan Cloak perform his avant-garde blend of music, and Saturday night will feature a showcase of John Talabot’s much-lauded Hivern Discs label.
The ‘Sound System’ itself is made up of four huge, three-metre-high speaker stacks which, when combined together, will be capable of delivering 120dB of bass in tandem with reduced distortion — meaning that this system not only will be loud but will also be crystal clear. If you’re heading over to Primavera, don’t forget to drop into the Bowers & Wilkins + Boiler Room Igloo Arena for some serious sound. It will be worth it!
