Breakspoll 2009 – The 8th International Breakbeat Awards

The details announced

2009 is set to be a big year in the world of breakbeat and what better way to get it started than the annual Breakspoll awards. On the 26th and 27th February, two of London's biggest clubs, Fabric and Matter, will hold significant parties dedicated to forging the new sound of breaks.

The first event is set to showcase exciting talent and music from across the world of breakbeat, as well as the esteemed International Breakbeat Awards Ceremony. The second will feature an immense, unannounced line-up of breakbeat stars coming together to show their support for the growing scene.

But it's this growth and change that has urged the Breakspoll to shake things up a bit. As breakbeat veterans begin to associate themselves with the popular electro-house scene, Breakspoll will no doubt act as a springboard for an entire new crop of breakbeat DJs to showcase their talents alongside the big names of breaks that are still fully dedicated to the cause.

Breakspoll has ambitions of creating a new outlook supported by new artists, new sounds and new influences. With a line-up spreading across three rooms including the likes of Ali B, A-Skillz, Bassbin Twins, Beat Assassins, Aquasky, Bodysnatchers, Afghan Headspin and Beat Vandals, it looks as though these aspirations will certainly be met at Fabric this coming February.

With a new image, fresh new line-up, new presenters and a new voting system, Breakspoll is starting a revolution that is destined to take breakbeat to a different level. The Matter line up is still unannounced, but the first night at Fabric is as follows:
