Brothers Gonna Work It Out

The Martinez Brothers hit the road across the USA

Last time we caught The Martinez Brothers, it was playing a tag-team twosome with Soul Clap upstairs at the Electric Pickle in Miami and the joint was jumping. Supremely talented for ones so young, and clearly driven to match, their second publix gig was supporting none other than straight-talking NY house head Dennis Ferrer at the equally established Shelter club – a feat that brings to mind the phrase, 'hit the ground running'.

Since then they've been chosen by Blackberry as ambassadors for the brand, following in the footsteps of Diplo, and pushed their production skills to match their quick handed dexterity behind the decks, where the spirit of hip-hop, funk and disco percolates in their mix of house and techno. If you want to know what tune they're playing in the video above from this year's Detroit Electronic Music Festival, it's their own Hardrive-sampling 'H 2 Da Izzo' coming out on October 3 on Real Tone Records.

Having spent the summer in Ibiza, they're now reacquainting themselves with home by playing nine dates across North America, kicking off on October 12 in Boston. Don't sleep on this!
