Buy Club Tickets Via SMS

Clubbers could soon been paying for club tickets and records via SMS. PayPal, the online payment system, is now available to mobile phone users.

Soon clubbers will be able to pay for entrance to clubs using their mobile phones.

PayPal, an online payment system with over 96.2 million account members in 55 countries and regions around the world, has just launched a scheme for mobile phones.

How does PayPal Mobile work?

"You must have a PayPal account in order to use PayPal Mobile. Then you can send money from your PayPal account to any phone number or email address within the US, Canada, or the UK," read a statement on the company's website.

Users will be able to send money either by text message to 729725 (PAYPAL) or by automated voice response by calling 1-800-4PAYPAL (1-800-472-9725).

The days when underground rave promoters will be able to throw a spontaneous party and punters pay for entrance using their cellular phones, or when you'll be able to go up to a DJ and 'encourage' them to play your favourite tune by making a special contribution to their PayPal account are closer than we thought.

North American and UK-based users will benefit from the service initially, which is expected to be rolled out in other regions of the world gradually.
