Datsik’s Firepower Records donating proceeds to anti-sexual violence organisation

“Firepower Records has and always will be a supporter of maintaining a safe place for everyone within our dance music community...”

Datsik’s Firepower Records, the label he founded in 2012 in his native Canada, has recently announced its plans to donate proceeds from an upcoming compilation to Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), the largest anti-sexual violence organisation in America.

The news comes a little over a week after the dubstep and EDM producer was accused of multiple instances of sexual assault by numerous fans on social media. Since the accusations arose, Datsik has seen major fallout from fans and the music industry alike, with his management company, Deckstar, and his booking agency, Circle Talent Agency, dropping him from their respective rosters. Following a public apology, Datsik has since stepped down from his role as founder of Firepower Records and has also cancelled his remaining tour dates and future festival performances.

The label’s announcement is the latest update in this on-going drama. According to the post, shared on Firepower’s official Facebook page, the label, along with the participating artists, will donate proceeds from the upcoming ‘Flatline Vol 8’ EP to RAINN for the first three months of release.

“Firepower Records has and always will be a supporter of maintaining a safe place for everyone within our dance music community,” said the Facebook post, which you can read in full below.
