Detroit techno legend Derrick May recently brought the holiday camp down when we caught him closing Bloc Weekender. So the news that he’s hitting DJ Mag’s Best of British award winning favourite club, Corsica Studios, on the 21st May for a six hour set has us salivating like Pavlov’s dogs.
Put on by Bleep43, his extended set time promises a set full of May’s myriad influences and productions, from his 80s beginnings alongside boyhood friends Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson, through classic tracks like ‘Strings of Life’ and ‘Nude Photo’, right up until the present day.
He’ll be ably supported by Cocadisco’s Intergalactic Gary, spinning italo, minimal wave, techno and Chicago acid house, Peter Mangalore and Ali Renault from the Human Shield soundsystem and a live performance from Bleep43’s Jo Johnson.
