DJ Mag Podcast 73: Greg Wilson

Greg Wilson offers up the latest edition of the DJ Mag Podcast with an eclectic set of reworks and re-edits, recorded live when DJ Mag took over the disco tent at Shindig Weekender back in May.

Nothing short of a legend on disco scene, the UK DJ is known for being a re-edit master and using of his trusty reel-to-reel tape deck when performing live.

Greg is also a regular contributor to DJ Mag UK's print edition, delivering his Discotheque Archives — an in-depth exploration into one classic DJ, label, venue and record — each month.

Closing the night at boutique Somerset festival, Shindig Weekender, Greg took to the disco-ball-shaped DJ booth to lay down one of his famous slo-mo sets, featuring pitched down reworks of classics by everyone from Bob Marley and Led Zeppelin to Jocelyn Brown, Change and Evelyn 'Champagne' King.

The tent was packed, the vibe was joyous and there were glittery faces all over the place. Good times!

Earlier in the day, the DJ Mag tent had also hosted Brooklyn veteran Todd Terry, Cadillac Soundsystem's Mark Hume (who delivered his own vinyl-only podcast back in June), Frank McQueeny of French Toast fame, and the DJ Mag Allstars.

While elsewhere at Shindig, the likes of Sugarhill Gang, Dub Pistols, and DJ sets from Fabio & Grooverider, DJ Marky and Krafty Kuts had entertained, keeping the vibe fun and friendly.
