7: Soul Mekanik

Soul Mekanik, AKA Kelvin Andrews and Danny Spencer, have quite some history.

Danny made seminal UK acid house record This Ain’t Chicago’s ‘Ride the Rhythm’, recently re-released on their Wonk label, before topping the charts as part of baggy outfit Candy Flip. Kelvin meanwhile was resident at UK superclub Golden, has toured the world as a DJ, and was part of Sure is Pure who produced Blueboy’s massive ‘90s hit ‘Remember Me’.

Oh, and they’ve had a number one hit with Robbie William, remixed Sister Sledge, and re-release their debut album ’81 Deluxe’ with remixes from the likes of Maurice Fulton and Greg Wilson on the 4th October. Not bad for a couple of lads from Stokey.
