Don’t Forget!

Two Nights Dedicated To The Recent Disasters In The Pacific

After the terrible earthquake and ensuing tsunami in Japan last month (not to mention the ongoing Fukushima nuclear disaster), and the earthquake in New Zealand a month previously, the dance community in the UK has responded with various charity shows raising money to help those affected in the Pacific regions. Some Japan earthquake benefits were very quick off the mark and have already happened, while another couple next month have really pushed the boat out when it comes to line-ups.

Don’t Forget at Fabric in London plays host to two benefit nights in May a fortnight apart, with the UK drum & bass/dubstep and techno communities stepping up to ram the line-ups with quality DJs. On Thursday 12th May, FabricLive in association with Hospitality and Shogun Audio present a mammoth line-up for the first part of Don’t Forget. Goldie, London Elektricity, Friction, Cyantific, High Contrast, Rockwell, Hatcha, Scratch Perverts, Dynamite MC, Rockwell, Roska, the True Tiger Collective and more will step up to do their bit, waiving their usual fees to raise the maximum amounts for charity.

A fortnight later Carl Cox’s Safe House Management and Holic team up with Fabric for another mega fund-raising night. Carl Cox is joined on the 26th May by John Digweed, Adam Beyer, Yousef, Speedy J, Cristian Varela, Jon Rundell, Maya Jane Coles (tbc) and Geddes for the second wave of conscious fun.

Tickets to both nights are £15 each, and both events run from 9pm – 4am. All profits, including bar profits, will be donated to the following charities: Red Cross Disaster Fund, New Zealand Embassy Christchurch Earthquake Appeal, Red Dot Relief and the Japan Society Tohoku Earthquake Relief Fund.
