AVID have teamed up with BMG for new sample packs featuring official samples from classic tracks...

Download official acapellas and stems from Strictly Rhythm and Salsoul back catalogue from BMG and AVID. Producers and DJs can download the loops and sounds from legendary tracks and artists like Loleatta Holloway, Armand Van Helden, Reel 2 Reel, First Choice and The Salsoul Orchestra.

The new project is a collaboration between Pro Tools developers AVID and BMG, who own the Strictly Rhythm and Salsoul back catalogues. They’ve been split into sounds, loops and acapellas, offering drum loops, basslines and guitar riffs for producers.

Some tracks even feature whole sections so producers can do their own edits either in the studio or live in the booth or on stage. Despite the fact that all samples are provided in WAV format, they are not royalty free to be released by anyone. BMG have said “if anyone needs to clear a sample for release, they will send in the form that is included in all packages for an automatic/easy clearance. BMG will take a % of publishing with no fee and no other parties are included for clearance”.

Whether you end up using the stems in an official release or just using them to build up ideas in the studio, it’s a great opportunity to hear some classic tracks stripped back. The packs cost $49.99 each and are available from AVID. For royalty-free sounds, check out NI's new Sounds.com sample subscription service
