Dreadzone Guitarist Dies

Steve Roberts, guitarist for breakbeat crew Dreadzone has been found dead in his flat.

Steve Roberts, guitarist for breakbeat crew Dreadzone, has been found dead in his flat. He was in his early fifties.

His brother Greg Roberts founded Dreadzone, and the band was due to embark on a tour.

A statement released by record label Functional Records said: "You are going to be greatly missed Steve."

Steve was a well-respected figure in the world of UK reggae music and toured with the late great Desmond Dekker, Prince Buster, The Pioneers, Bob Andy, Dawn Penn, Errol Dunkley, Alton Ellis and Dennis Alcapone.

It is not yet known how Steve died, as details have yet to be released.
