East Village Opening

Killer new club to open on former Medicine bar site

Just three weeks into 2008 and already are we seeing the effects of the Goods Yard closures. What is now especially exciting, is that many of the big promoters are having to look to smaller, less central venues, giving more London districts a look-in, essentially pushing clubbing in the capital, back towards to its roots. The New East Village venue in Shoreditch is one such haunt. Formerly Medicine, the place is currently undergoning a huge overhaul, including new décor, a custom built sound system and a brand new roster of promoters who are readying to shake it up good and proper.

London stalwart Stuart Patterson, renowned for his legendary Soulsonic, Faith parties, and more recently, for his North West London club The Lodge and RebelWaltz shindigs, will be heading up Fridays, bringing all manner of housey delights to the Ditch. While other party starters getting involved are Go!Zilla, Warm, need2soul and Black Rabbit, so there's no doubting this is going to be one of true big guns of the East End scene. For the opening night - February 22nd - you'll find Karizma, Tomoki Takura and Mr Patterson downstairs while The Disco Bloodbath crew welcome cosmic disco luminaries the Idjut Boys up above. The new era of London rave is officially upon us!
