EDC TAKES OVER MILTON KEYNES BOWL

Avicii, Calvin Harris and Fatboy Slim all down for huge UK event

You know when dance music has really arrived when it starts to take over stadium venues that have traditionally only been used for rock concerts.

EDC, the Electric Daisy Carnival franchise from the US, makes its second appearance in the UK this summer by taking over the Milton Keynes Bowl — a venue previously used to stage enormo-gigs by the likes of U2, Queen and Metallica.

EDC UK is set over two days – Saturday 12th July and Sunday 13th July — and its monster line-up reads almost like a who’s who of the current biggest names in electronic music.

Avicii, Steve Angello, Steve Aoki, Nicky Romero, Martin Garrix, Showtek, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Paul Oakenfold, Marco Carola, Dubfire, Calvin Harris, Fatboy Slim, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Laidback Luke, Sander Van Doorn, B.Traits and Gorgon City are just some of the acts who will be lighting up the Carnival over the course of the weekend.

Staged by Insomniac and Cream, the production promises to be second-to-none too. Special effects, fireworks, roaming costumed performers and interactive art installations will all add to the flavour of the weekend, transforming the Bowl into some sort of festival wonderland, the organisers promise.

“Every time I think back to the last summer, I’m humbled that over 50,000 fans showed up to share their amazing energy and enthusiasm during our first international show, EDC in the UK,” said Pasquale Rotella, Founder and CEO of Insomniac.

“Because of their amazing support we’re bringing the festival back for its second year and it’s going to be bigger and brighter than before. Milton Keynes Bowl is such a world-renowned venue and we’re excited to transform it into something that’s never been seen before.”

Tickets are priced at £55 for the day for early birds, or £100 the whole weekend, available here
