Encompass Launches
London's annual electronic music conference Encompass has announced its programme for 2006. The three-day event will see over 90 artists and DJs perform.
Border Community boss James Holden kicked off proceedings for this year's Encompass dance music events, at a
special industry-only launch night on
Thursday 9 March.
The festival, which launched last year, has been streamlined for 2006, and its key seminars and workshops will now take place over 24 hours.
In 2005, Encompass suffered somewhat by organising day activities during the week, but this year all its workshops and panels will occur on Saturday 13 May.

The venue has also changed for Encompass' seminar showcase, with its day events to be held at Shoreditch Town Hall from 2pm to 8pm.
Like last year however, the real action at Encompass takes place after dark.
From Thursday 11 till Saturday 13 May, over 90 electronic music artists and DJs will perform at six local venues.
Record label showcases are planned from Non-stop, Tummy Touch, Warp, Loose Change, DC Recordings, Leftroom, Channel Zero, Factor City, Tirk, Innervisions, Compost, Tyke, Soma, Border Community, Samurai.fm, and Ghostly.
Clubs to host special Encompass events include The End, Cargo, 93 Feet East, Rhythm Factory, Sosho, and 54 Commercial Street.
Encompass focuses on quality DJs and cutting-edge electronic music artists.
Over the conference, acts such Factor City's Catalan, Warp's B12, Jimmy Edgar, Plastician (formely Plasticman), James Holden, Beanfield and Ross Allen, Depth Charge, Dixon and Ame, DJ Vadim, Mark Rae, and Soma's techno producers will appear, making it one of the most exciting events in 2006 for London's electronic music fans.
Last year Encompass gave London something that it desperately needed – a credible electronic music festival that gave industry and punters a chance to discuss the future of the scene.
This year should be even better.
