Fabric to Host Lake of Stars Party

The amazing Malawian dance music festival, Lake of Stars, is already gearing up to be a smasher this year.

In anticipation of this year's event, the organizers are taking over Fabric for a charity fundraiser on Thursday 3rd May, to raise awareness of the festival's goals.

Playing at the event will be a host of eclectic guests who have also played at the festival before, including Felix Buxton of Basement Jaxx laying down a rare as rocking horse shit set. Annie Mac is also confirmed, and no doubt the Irish lass will be blending one of her irreverent, fun and unpredictable excursions through all genres of dance music. Also appearing will be residents from Chibuku, Mulletover, Horsemeat Disco, Dirty Disco, Wax:On.

The Lake of Stars festival takes place in Malawi in Southern Africa every year, from 5th to 7th October. From 2004, the event has grown outwards from its site on Lake Malawi, and has seen sets from Groove Armada's Andy Cato, members of Bugz in the Attic, DJ Yoda, Tikhu Vibrations and the Black Missionaries. The festival was conceived as a way of kickstarting Malawi's tourist industry, and it's location on the beautiful lake make it the perfect place for Western and Malawian artists to meet, perform and collaborate. This year, DJs and artists will include Annie Mac, The Wombats, and African jazz legend Wambali Mkandawire.

In the meantime, get your arse down running from 7pm to 3am, with door tax £10 (NUS) or £12, it promises to be a wicked night.
