Firepowered Up
Datsik steps up the dub with twelve new dates added to his US Firepower tour.
Kicking off on August 30 in Denver, Datsik and his dubstep crew tour the US throughout the fall. Twelve new dates have been added to this beefy extravaganza, with Baltimore, Richmond, Raleigh, Missoula, Boise, Spokane, Reno, Des Moines, Lincoln, Lubbock, Minneapolis and Gainesville now on the map.
Nestled in a vortex-like DJ booth, Datsik and comrades Delta Heavy, Bare Noize, AFK, Getter and Terravita (on select dates), have teamed up with leading VJ Vello Virkhaus from V Squared Labs (who’ve previously worked with the likes of Jay-Z, Roger Sanchez, Amon Tobin, Drake, Korn and Sting). From an idea first sketched out on a sheet of paper, the tour will have some mind-blowing visuals, narrating each night with robots, machines, fire and optical art.
And with 50,000 watts of sound provided by PK Sound (also used on Skrillex’s Mothership tour and Excision’s X Tour), you can guarantee heavy warbling bass all night.
Datsik is one of the recent North American dubstep heavyweights. With deep influences in hip-hop, his music is known for its dark, dirty and robotic sounds. He released his debut album ‘Vitamin D’ on Dim Mak Recordsearlier this year, as well as setting up his own label Firepower. Since his first releases in 2009 with Canadian dubstep producer Excision, Datsik has come a long way.
Signed up with Firepower records, Delta Heavy and Bare Noize from the UK are making appearances, as well as US-born AFK, Getter and Terravita.
