Four shot dead at Carl Cox gig

Tragic deaths at Venezuelan festival

A gunman opened fire into a crowd at a Carl Cox gig in Caracas, Venezuela, on Saturday 3rd November, killing four and injuring nine others.

Eyewitness reports allege that Cox had only begun his set at the Hippodromo, part of Caracas' racecourse, when a series of loud bangs were heard. Although the motive for the attack is not known, it is believed that the shootings may be gang related.

Carl Cox said he was "shocked and stunned" by the incident.

"My condolences go out to the victims that were caught up in this horrific act, which took place at this gig," said Cox. "I am informed that it was gang related, and I feel so sad that anybody would act in such a manner when the event was full of 7000 people having fun!

"I will try my best to continue on the tour in South America, however deeply shaken I am."
