To celebrate their 15th anniversary, Peng Records from the UK are offering readers of DJmag.com the chance to download some choice cuts from their back catalogue. If you're a fan of the current in-vogue sound of deep house, then check out some of this deep deep house!
 
Peng Records was started in 1999 by Andy Compton (pictured) from deep house act The Rurals. Initially meant as a vehicle for their own productions, it soon expanded its remit and has now released over 100 singles and 20 albums.
 
The Rurals began in the mid-'90s, and fans of their work include Larry Heard, Louie Vega, Glenn Underground, Mark Farina and Osunlade.
 
Based in Devon in the south-west of England, they became known for their agrarian, free spirited deep house sounds that saw them work with labels such as Naked Music from San Francisco, Defected from the UK, and even Motown from Detroit.
