The Future Now! Fri 9th December

Hannah Holland, Funkystepz, R1 Ryders and more at Egg London

The Future Now! gears up for the festive season with a bulging sack of DJ goodness.

Taking over the house room is Trailer Trash resident Hannah Holland, chief of Batty Bass Records, East London's hippest hideout, who'll be bringing her distinctive blend of German techno, jacking house and bass (check her latest RA Chart here). She's supported by Dexter Kane (the housier alter-ego of minimal tech master Kanio), whose superbly dark remix of 'Dirty Cash' drops on Lower East the same week, as well as Warboy, Society DJs and Tim Hilton.

In the bass room the three-headed funky machine that is Rinse FM/Hyperdub's Funkystepz will be dropping everything from squeaking Dutch monsters to percussive soul jams. Fresh from releasing their 'Pole Position' EP last month, R1 Ryders bring a bumping blend of rave, garage, techno and funky and the youthful Widowmaker, who's signed to N-Type's massive Wheel & Deal Records, drops the skanking, tear-out dubstep. They're joined by the fresh-faced Palace, who launches his debut single for Unknown to the Unknown with some beefed up 21st century two-step.
