Birmingham superclub Gatecrasher had its license suspended for a fortnight after a customer was attack by a bouncer. Police warned the venue that it was in the “last chance saloon” in the wake of the incident which occurred last month, the Birmingham Mail reports.

Gatecrasher’s license was suspended for 14-days after the attack on 15th August and it was ordered to terminate its contract with its security firm. That club was also forced operate at 50 per cent capacity in the first week of its reopening.

West Midlands Police haven taken no further action against the venue. PC Rohoman, licensing officer for the force, said: “It’s unusual for us to come here and to ask for no further action. But if it had not been for what the club has done in the last month we would have been asking for a revocation.”

Raymond McVeighty, speaking to the Mail on behalf of the club, said steps had been taken to restructure the management team and replace the security company and medical provider. McVeighty said: “It has been acknowledged that there has been some complacency. But make no mistake, in the last month enormous steps have been taken.”
