Gorillaz share new track, ‘Sorcererz’: Listen

New album ‘The Now Now’ hits shelves later this month

Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett's iconic cartoon band Gorillaz have dropped another new track from their forthcoming album ‘The Now Now’.

‘Sorcererz’ is the third tune to be released from the record, coming after jaunty indie-rock number ‘Humility’ and house-flavoured instrumental ‘Lake Zurich’.

It’s a techno-funk jam laced with catchy riffs and piercing keyboard fills. Gorillaz debuted the track during a live set at Rock im Park festival in Nürnberg, Germany last weekend. The band played four new songs from ‘The Now Now’, including ‘Tranz’, ‘Magic City’, ‘Sorcererz’, and ‘Souk Eye’.

The outfit’s sixth studio album will be released via Parlophone on June 28.

Earlier this week, Gorillaz announced their upcoming U.S. tour including the innaugural Demon Dayz festival which will feature sets from the likes of Erykah Badu, Afrobeat legend Tony Allen and Little Simz. They also announced their star-studded support cast which features hip-hop luminaries Vince Staples and Danny Brown on support duty.
