HARD SUMMER NEW DATES AND LOCATION

A Hard-er summer in Cali

Hard Events, the crew responsible for Hard Summer, Day of the Dead and Holy Ship!!!, this morning announced a new location for Hard Summer 2014. The seventh annual electronic music festival will go down at the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area on August 2-3.

Whittier Narrows is located in South El Monte, CA, about ten miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The park features more trees and green space than the previous location, Chinatown's L.A. State Historic Park, and is three times as big.

The added space means that Hard is getting even Hard-er. This year's event will feature an additional stage (for a total of five) as well as increased capacity. More than 75 artists will be on the lineup, which is expected to be announced sometime in the next few weeks. The new location will also presumably make parking, which has been an issue in Chinatown, less of a logistical nightmare.

Hard Summer 2013 brought 70,000 people to the L.A. State Historic Park, where Hard has been throwing events for the past four years. The park, which also hosts the rock-oriented FYF Fest, was closed last month as part of a year long renovation project.

An early bird sale for Hard Summer tickets begins at 10am this Friday, February 28, via the festival's website
