2013 No.1 is surprise guest at Amsterdam launch party
Hardwell, the 2013 No.1 DJ in DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll, was the surprise guest at the Top 100 DJs poll launch party in Amsterdam at the weekend. Hardwell joined his label-mates Dannic and 2013's Highest New Entry Dyro for the Paradiso show, with Highest Climber Andrew Rayel and Dubvision also on the bill.

Hardwell shot to the top of the poll last year, having previously been No.6 in 2012 and No.24 in 2011 – the same trajectory by which his mentor Tiesto rose to the top a decade previously. But who will win the 2014 poll?
Hardwell didn't believe he was going to win 2013's poll — and had a bet with his friend that he would do a skydive if he was voted No.1. Sure enough, Hardwell had to do the parachute jump — here he is in full flight, landing on a giant DJ Mag logo:
DJ Mag spoke to Hardwell at the launch party just after he came off stage. “I really loved tonight, the voting opened tonight, I'm really nervous about this year, like I am always every year,” Hardwell said. “But I've had a really good night in Amsterdam.”
Over 750,000 dance music fans from around the world voted in 2013's poll – will 2014's top that? Voting closes on September 15th, and then once all the votes are counted and verified the results are revealed at the massive awards show on October 18th during ADE.
