HYPERDUB TURNS 10

Four comps due this year from Kode9's acclaimed label

Kode9’s seminal Hyperdub label celebrates 10 years of eclectic urban electronica this year, with no less than four compilation albums and a world tour.

Released on May 19th, the first compilation in the series, ‘Hyperdub 10.1’, will be split into two discs, representing the label's sound past and present.

Disc One features 16 tracks of mainly fresh material from Hyper fervent producers Kode9 and regular collaborator The Spaceape, alongside DJ Rashad, DJ Earl, Flowdan, and DMZ co-founder Mala. Hyperdub have also promised that a selection of EPs that tie in with this CD will follow.

Meanwhile, the second disc pays tribute to some of the label's most memorable moments, with a full 17 cuts from the back catalogue.

But that's not all. Beginning in April, Hyperdub will take to the road, bringing the sounds of the underground to venues across the world. The first set of dates to be announced are as follows:

18/04 – School Of Art, Glasgow
16/05 – Dude Club, Milan
17/05 – Warehouse, Rome
23/05 – Fabric, London
13/06 – Berghain, Berlin
14/06 – Be Cool, Barcelona

Originally created as a webzine in 2000, Hyperdub became a fully-fledged label in 2004, releasing 'Sine Of The Dub' by Kode9 & The Spaceape. Since then it has gone on to pioneer a range of gritty, intelligent electronic music, including dubstep, grime and UK funky.
