IBIZA 2014: THE SEASON SO FAR

With Miller Genuine Draft

Ibiza 2014 is shaping up to be one of the best seasons yet. Despite the island being in a state of flux, the crowds at opening weekend were strong and there is excitement on the island about the evolving face of Ibiza.

At the start of the month we were on the island for IMS and Space Opening Party - the unofficial curtain raiser for the season.

The International Music Summit moved venues this year to the all-new Hard Rock Hotel - the latest in a slew of high-end venues that have arrived in Ibiza over the last few years.

As the first Hard Rock hotel in Europe, there are big plans for the venture - and they have confirmed Chic & Nile Rodgers for the official opening party this week.

The IMS Grand Finale took place at the UNESCO World Heritage Site atop of Dalt Vila in Ibiza’s old town, but stretched to two days this year. You can catch the sets from the likes of Eats Everything, Pete Tong and Annie Mac here.

Sunday night saw Deep Dish and Chemical Brothers smashed the Space Opening party before DC10 opened its anarchic doors for a madness-fulled Circo Loco party on Monday.

Elsewhere, Booom (now with an extra ‘o’) returned with a rammed Defected in the House party and the all-new Gatecrasher club in San Antonio bought Aly & Fila & Mistajam to town for their unveiling night at the fully refurbished venue (previously Eden).

Last Sunday we capped our time on the island with the annual DJ Mag Party at Space Ibiza, where house and techno masters Midland, Dense & Pika, Ejeca and Citizen kept the dancefloor rolling until the early hours.
