IBIZA'S TOP RESTAURANTS

Here we detail some of the finest eateries the White Isle has to offer...

SAN ANTONIO

DAVID’S PIZZERIA, C/ DE MADRID
A perennial workers' and DJ Mag favourite, David’s is among the finest restaurants in San Antonio. From mouth-watering calzones to fresh, crunchy salads to a choice of delectable pasta dishes, their wide-ranging menu is busting with choice. And with a set menu starting at just €12.50, David’s is a great option for those seeking a hearty meal on a budget. The attentive staff, ambience and authentic fare never fail to disappoint either.

KASBAH, C/ SOLEDAD
Nestled on the far end of San An’, Kasbah is something of a hidden treasure that’s hard not to fall head over heels for. The sunsets here rival those at Mambo and the menu is changed regularly thanks to the dedication of the in-house chefs. The daytime menu is delicious, and so too is the tapas menu. The elevated terrace and ocean-side views make it a popular choice to unwind and enjoy the hot summer evenings, and when the sun goes down it takes on a whole new vibe of its own.

RELISH, SAN ANTONIO BAY
Relish is a funky little restaurant in Cala de Bous that is known for it’s a la carte menu and reasonable prices. Owned by the crew behind Tapas, it’s a real culinary jewel that’s been keeping the punters coming back for more than seven years now. Once you’ve sampled its many delights, you’ll soon see why.

TAPAS, CAMI DES REGUERO 4
Tapas only arrived on the scene in 2012, but in next to no time it’s left a considerable mark on the island courtesy of its reasonable prices and globally diverse menu. Classy fare isn’t perhaps what you’d expect from Avenida Fleming, but Tapas has always been one to follow its own path. Which, incidentally, is what you’ll have to do to find the place, as it’s nestled up a dirt road opposite the gastronomic delights of Burger King. On a serious note, DJ Mag recommends the stuffed peppers or the marinated pork — both of which go down an absolute treat.

TIJUANA TEX MEX, C/ ROMAN Y CAYAL
Rarely have we ever frequented a restaurant that’s as expertly detailed as Tex Mex. The décor’s sheer attention to detail really is something, but thankfully the food doesn’t let the side down either. Among San Antonio’s most popular eateries, it was established in 1993 and continues to keep the punters coming back for more thanks to its extensive and genuine Mexican cuisine. This one really has to be seen to be believed. Arriba!

VILLA MERCEDES, PASSIEG DE LA MAR
Much like its car namesake, Villa Mercedes is a spot that exudes class and sophistication. Unlike the motor vehicle, however, it’s far more reasonably priced. Boasting spectacular views overlooking the marina, this converted villa is the epitome of the elegant Mediterranean dining experience. An unlikely oasis of style and sophistication in the hedonistic party town that is San An, it’s sure to provide you with a meal you’ll remember for years to come.

PLAYA D’EN BOSSA
CIAO CIAO
Located but a stone’s throw from the beach in Playa d’en Bossa, Ciao Ciao is a spirited little Italian restaurant that’s known throughout PDB for its mouth-watering pizzas and friendly staff. This one is a real favourite amongst the DJ Mag crew especially!

JUSTO ENFRENTE
An all-you-can-eat mixed grill that’s already proving a huge hit this summer, Justo Enfrente is a very welcome addition to the Playa d’en Bossa culinary domain. For €15 a head you’re unlikely to get a better or tastier meal this side of the island and once you’ve stuffed yourself to your heart’s content, there’s a chill-out area to bring you back down to earth in. Yes!

IBIZA ROCKS DINER, PLAYA D’EN BOSSA
Thanks to the success of its San An’ counterpart, it was really only a matter of time before PDB had its own Ibiza Rocks diner. Located but metres away from Ushuaia and across the road from Space, it’s a veritable delight in an area that, unusually enough, isn't yet renowned for its gastronomic excellence.

The menu isn’t sophisticated (burgers and ribs are their specialities), but what the Diner does, it most definitely does well. Their sumptuous cocktails are great any time of the day — with the Strawberry Daiquiri a particular favourite of ours.

PASSION CAFÉ
By now the secret is well out of the bag, but Passion Café may just be Bossa’s best reasonably-priced restaurant. On an island where it can be hard to keep healthy, their organic fare and delicious smoothies are a real life-saver. Tip!

SIROCCO BEACH
A little further down from the hustle and bustle of the main resort, Sirocco is located in a more tranquil spot of Bossa where it overlooks the quieter end of the shores. Located between Hard Rock and Ushuaia, it’s known for its hearty Italian menu and tunes that regularly come at us from Pacha resident, DJ Pippi.

IBIZA TOWN
LA BODEGA, TALAMANCA
Located close to Pacha on the Talamanca side of Ibiza Town, La Bodega is a sensory delight for many reasons. The tapas and wine menus are exceptional, while the intricate Spanish décor gives it that added Ibiza flavour. Celebrating its tenth season this summer, La Bodega really is an unpretentious joint that’s renowned for all the right reasons.

ORGANIC MARKET, MARINA BOTOFOCH
A quaint little spot a bit further down Marina Botofoch, Organic Market’s popularity is reflected in the fact that it’s already proving massively popular with locals and tourists alike. Previously Cappuccino, this vegetarian and vegan restaurant is one where everything is made with real passion and love. A real treat for the taste buds that you’ll remember long after your journey to Ibiza is over.

SANTA RITA, CALLE BIZBAL AZAR, PUERTO DE IBIZA
If you like quality grub then you’re going to absolutely adore Santa Rita. Owned by the lovely fellas behind the nearby Angelo’s and Base Bar, it’s a tapas bar that doesn’t take itself too seriously but instead prides itself on delicious snacks. Located just inside the port, it’s the perfect place to unwind after descending to the top of the old town.

SUSHI POINT, MARINA BOTOFOCH
Another sushi joint near B-For is the simply-named Sushi Point. Located within the classy confines of Marina Botofoch, this enticing spot also offers take-away options should you not feel like mingling with the VIPs of the port. As an aside, the owners are genuine music lovers too, which is why you might be pleasantly surprised to sample some pretty cool tunes down this way.

THE BEST OF THE REST
AMANTE, SANTA EULALIA
Helmed by David Piccioni (the brains behind the classic Azuli imprint), Amante Beach Club truly is a restaurant like few others on the island. Featuring stunning views of neighbouring island Formentera, they’re also innovative enough to screen films and host yoga sessions every other week. A firm favourite with visiting DJs and in-the-know visitors, the food here is also among the best the island has to offer.

COTTON BEACH, CALA TARIDA
Cotton Beach Club is the all-new, luxurious Ibiza beach club set to impress in Cala Tarida, making the island’s southwest coast the destination du jour for islanders and jet-setters alike. Decked all in white – 100% cotton of course – with chic furnishings and stylish day beds, Cotton Beach Club promotes itself as the epitome of White Island style – and they’re not wrong either. The menu features everything from sushi to fish to steak options and more.

EL CHIRINGUITO, ES CAVALLET
El Chiringuito’s aim is ‘to create simple, honest, great tasting food in a warm, soft loving environment’. They use the finest ingredients, locally sourced where possible, and their team has been doing their thing here for years.

With views to Dalt Villa to the left and Formentera to the right, El Chiringuito is perfectly situated on Es Cavallet, one of Ibiza’s most beautiful beaches. Europe’s second ever nudist beach, Es Cavallet has a long tradition of tolerance and fun and El Chiringuito seeks to continue in that spirit.

IBIZA ROCKS HOUSE (PIKES HOTEL, CAMI DE SA VORERA – JUST OUTSIDE SAN ANTONIO)
It doesn’t come much more rock star than Pikes. Julio Inglesias, Boy George and Naomi Campbell have all stayed here over the years, while there’s even a Freddie Mercury Suite that’s been titled in homage to the late Queen star. These days, the famous hotel has been renamed Ibiza Rocks House and Idris Elba even hosted a residency here last year. Thankfully, the food remains as delectable and as delicious as ever. Tuck in!

LA ESCOLLERA, SALINAS
Celebrated for its famous paellas, views of Formentera and its discerning soundtrack, there really are few other places that can match up to La Escollera for good-time Ibiza vibes. Food wise, they incorporate authentic Spanish and Mediterranean-influenced cuisine including seafood, prime cuts of meat and a good selection for vegetarians into their menu. For the more modern palates, dishes like Thai-style chicken or Californian sushi do the trick. Trust us, you’ll fall in love with this place in an instant.

MARCS, CALA LLONGA
A far cry from the resorts of Playa d’en Bossa and San Antonio, Cala Llonga is the sort of place you go to if you’re after the authentic Ibiza experience. And if you’re heading in that general direction, then we wholeheartedly recommend Marcs. With Asian, French, German and Italian dishes on offer, you’re sure to be spoiled for choice, while its pretty setting is certain to have you coming back for more.

SA CALETA, SA CALETA BEACH
Beautifully decorated in a rustic nautical theme, this seafood-focused eatery is popular among locals and is open all year round. In high summer a masseur also sets up shop in front, just at the entrance to the beach.

VINYL BURGER, SANT JORDI
Situated in the charming town of Sant Jordi, you know Vinyl Burger is run by music lovers – because their hearty burgers are served on 12-inch records! Even so, there’s nothing novel about the burgers on show. Utterly delicious and unlike anything you’re likely to experience at home, Vinyl Burger is a carnivore’s delight.
