Industry Takeover

Calling all urban music producers, DJs and MCs...

Building on the success of the Industry Takeover launch in 2009, Urban Development, in association with Rich Mix, are proud to announce the full line up of this year's Industry Takeover All Day Seminar and Showcase.

Hosted at Rich Mix, Bethnal Green, on Saturday 16th April 2011 the day offers edutainment and networking opportunities to industry-minded youth from across the UK with the aim of empowering the next generation of emcees, singers, DJs and young music industry professionals.

It also includes a Ones to Watch 2011 Showcase in association with MOBO Organisation with 15 hyped performers taking to the stage including:

Tempa T - Grime MC from East London, known primarily for the song 'Next Hype'. Tempz recently collaborated with Chase & Status, producers of his recent banger “Hypest Hype” which achieved A-list status on Radio 1.

Yasmin - International DJ, respected hip-hop club runner and sometime radio show host, she has supported N*E*R*D, toured Europe with Eve, opened Ibiza Rocks for Dizzee Rascal, played Glastonbury and had a Top 15 hit with Devlin.

Urban Development have enlisted the skills of industry heavy-weights such as Jonathan Shallit (Chairman of ROAR group, manager of N-DUBZ) Will Blake (SJM promoter whose roster includes Chipmunk and Jessie J amongst others) and Twin B Alex (product manager at Island Records) to give their invaluable insight into the urban scene as it stands today and tips on how to steal their job.

Wretch 32 will also be running master classes in digital Djing, creating the biggest brand buzz possible and ensuring every aspect of an artists’ image is flawless while BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Charlie Sloth will be on hand with guest performers including Kasha and Joe Black bringing his ‘Fire in the Booth’ freestyle sessions to the Industry Takeover.
