After spending just one day on Instagram’s infamous blocked list, the social media company has revoked its decision to ban the EDM hashtag.
In a pubic statement issued by the company on Wednesday, the hashtag was blocked as it "was being used to share content that violates guidelines around nudity”.
Less than 24-hours later, the ban was seemingly lifted, making the hashtag searchable again for over 300 million Instagram users worldwide.
The company has not yet publicly commented on the reversal, but in the original statement a spokesperson said, "We're working on a way to more quickly restore certain hashtags that have previously been blocked. We're also working on ways to better communicate our policies around hashtags."
